Praise for George RR Martin..

That bastard! Well, yes, right, not quite praise. But, finally caught hold of book four (and I'm sure that I'm quite right in assuming that four of the five people that'll end up reading this post will have no clue what I'm on about). Started reading through the first three books again, just to sort of recap. Point is, though (and here's where you'll go, "ahh, therefore the title") that I caught myself staring at the cover (of book two, I think) and noticed a comment (obviously) praising it, written by Robert Jordan. A fairly generic line of praise (all the more proof that the man sorely lacks an imagination.. or creativity, for that matter), "Grabs hold and won't let go. It's brilliant." Given that it was Jordan praising the book (bear with me here, I hate the man and I have a point that I'm getting at), perhaps it would have been better (ie. more honest and greater praise) if he'd said something more along the lines of, "Grabs hold and won't let go. It's brilliant. In fact, so brilliant, that I'm copying the plot, changing the characters' names and selling it as the next installment of my already overlong fantasy series. Hey, as long as there's money in it!..." Well, in any case, now that I'm done with that little diatribe of mine, here's good news for (rejoice, Kray, and all else who read this!). I have strated writing another story (having tired of reading and desirous of a small little break). It'll have the Queen somewhere in there, at least that's the way I've planned it. But then the final product scarcely ever reflects accurately the original idea that I start off with...

By the 26th, then, is the deadline I've set for myself. And if I get bored of midsem mugging, who knows, it might just be ready by the end of this week...
